At Fern & Fox Cleaning, we believe in clear communication and transparency to ensure every client has the best experience possible. The following policies help set expectations and protect both our clients and our team. Please review before booking our services.

1. Service Area & Travel Charges

• Our standard service area includes Steinbach, Manitoba, and surrounding communities.

• For bookings outside of the Steinbach area, an additional one (1) hour will be added to the invoice to cover mileage and travel time.

• For locations more than one (1) hour away from Steinbach, a charge of $0.45 per kilometre will apply.

2. Weather Related Closures

• For the safety of our team, Fern & Fox Cleaning will close during severe weather conditions.

• We follow the Hanover School Division weather cancellations. If schools are closed or buses are not running due to weather, our services will also be postponed or rescheduled.

Affected clients will be contacted to arrange an alternate date.

3. Delays & Missed Appointments

• If a scheduled job is delayed or inaccessible upon our arrival (e.g. no one is home, entry not arranged, etc.) and has not been rescheduled in advance, a missed appointment fee equal to 4 hours will be charged. This covers both our on site time and the opportunity cost of lost work.

• For post construction cleans, the site must be fully ready for cleaning. This includes:

• Functioning hot water and electricity

• No active or minimal tradespeople still working

If the site is not in a cleanable state upon arrival, the same 4-hour missed appointment fee will apply.

Please contact us ahead of time if you’re unsure whether your space is ready.

4. Final Clean Disclaimer

• We are proud to stand behind the quality of our final cleans. However, we cannot guarantee cleanliness or provide our “final clean” stamp if additional tradespeople or contractors enter the home after our cleaning.

• If further work is completed post clean, we recommend scheduling a touch up clean to restore presentation quality.

We are always happy to return for a touch up if needed.

5. Extreme Cleaning Fees & Safety

• Conditions such as mouse droppings, cockroach infestations, mould, or pet excrement are considered extreme cleaning situations and are subject to additional charges.

• These fees are assessed at our discretion, with a minimum charge of $50, increasing depending on severity.

• Fern & Fox Cleaning reserves the right to refuse or leave a clean if the environment is unsafe or unsuitable for our team.

We will try our best to communicate these conditions and associated costs before proceeding, but sometimes we don’t realize the extent of the situation until we have already started the cleaning process.
